THE WHY

This philanthropic platform was inspired by the need to foster positive change in disadvantaged communities of South Africa.
➔ Drive for Excellence aims to bring this change about by promoting a culture of excellence through education and youth development.
➔ The Trust aims to address the decaying education system and infrastructure in underprivileged communities through:
● Upgrading derelict infrastructure or providing basics where nothing exists.
● Building capacity in identified high schools for learners, teachers and school managers.
● Developing community and school projects strongly geared towards skills development.
● Facilitating provision of financial support to gifted learners from these communities.
➔ The beneficiaries will be learners from poor communities in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
➔ Through the Drive for Excellence initiative, we have raised over R6,3 million cumulatively over the past six events. We have set for ourselves the target of over R2 million for our beneficiaries again this year. The beneficiaries in 2022 were the Seana Marena Foundation, Sikhula Sonke and Beautiful Gate. The beneficiaries for 2023 are still under consideration and will be announced via our website with the launch of our fundraising campaign.
➔ To achieve the above, we rely on generous Corporate Sponsorship and support which will allow us to continue the good work of Drive for Excellence.

THE HOW

THE EVENT – EXCLUSIVE GOLF EXPERIENCE @ PEARL VALLEY GOLF CLUB

The “Drive for Excellence Foundation” was founded by philanthropist Sello Moloko who brings a wealth of South African Business Leaders together as he hosts this exclusive golf event.

The event gives Business Leaders the opportunity to come together, network, share, contribute and make a difference in the lives of our future leaders.

Hosted every year since 2014 (except for 2018 and 2020) in support of community development provides an ideal platform to raise much-needed funds for this project’s beneficiaries to acquire essential tools, services and experiences for learning. All the proceeds from the golf day are distributed to the nominated beneficiaries on the day.

This prestigious event will be held at Pearl Valley Golf Estate on Thursday, 2 November 2023.  

The event will host 128 golfers made up of S.A. Business Leaders by invitation only, an opportunity to come together and share, network and be part of this worthy cause. The day will culminate in a exclusive cocktail event and will tie in various other fundraising initiatives.
